WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Greenwood is currently on loan at La Liga side Getafe from Manchester United. There were reports that United were planning to reintegrate the 22-year-old into Erik ten Hag's squad after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges of attempted rape and assault in February before he was shipped out following the conclusion of an internal inquiry. There have been rumours that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-united-mason-greenwood-getafe-transfer/blt957d0cd1fb8296e7" target="_blank">Greenwood wants to make his move to Spain permanent</a>, but also that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/mason-greenwood-return-man-utd-transfer-specialist-paul-mitchell-seen-casting-eye-loan-getafe-striker/bltabae64d4c5bdce7e" target="_blank">United are considering bringing him back</a>.</p>

THE GOSSIP

<p>Greenwood is under contract at United until 2025, with the option to extend by a further year. It isn't yet known whether the Red Devils will look to sell the attacker next summer or loan him out again.</p>
