Like last season, Arsenal are seen as the most likely team to challenge Pep Guardiola’s side, while former leaders Tottenham have dropped to fourth in the table following two defeats.

Just three points separate the top five teams in the table.

Champions have taken charge

City old boy Cole Palmer denied the champions three points at Chelsea in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday but the result still saw the Citizens cut to 4/11 from 2/5 to retain their Premier League crown.

That means Pep Guardiola’s side have won just one of their last four away league games and they can look forward to a busy run of fixtures once the international break is over with three games against other teams in the top five.

They bounce back to action with a home clash against Liverpool while Tottenham will be the next team to be entertained at the Etihad.

Then they travel to Villa Park where Aston Villa claimed their 13th successive home victory on Sunday with a 3-1 success over Fulham.

Arsenal rise as City’s main challengers

Arsenal and Liverpool are level on 27 points, just one below City, and bookmakers expect the London team to be the champions’ closest rivals, just as they were last season.

Mikel Arteta’s side, who led the table for much of last term, are 11/2 to go one better this time and their 3-1 win over Burnley maintained their unbeaten record at the Emirates.

However, they have drawn at Chelsea and lost at Newcastle in their last two away matches and they face a potentially tricky trip to Brentford in their first game back.

Liverpool are just above the Gunners on goal difference and they are 13/2 to win the title for the first time since 2020.

The Reds eased past Brentford 3-0 on Sunday to maintain their 100 per cent home record this season and their only defeat was a controversial loss at Tottenham, so there will be plenty of motivation to go above City when the pair meet at the Etihad on Saturday 25th November.

Tottenham struggling to keep up the pace

Tottenham have fallen behind into fourth after successive defeats to Chelsea and Wolves, which have been compounded by key injuries to James Maddison and Micky van der Ven.

Ange Postecoglou’s team have been pushed out to 33/1 from 12/1 with Newcastle next in the betting at 100/1 following their surprise 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth in the last Saturday game.

The Magpies already have eight points to make up on City, while Villa have three following their win over the Cottagers.

Unai Emery’s side are 150/1 to win their first title since 1981, alongside Manchester United, who are fifth in the table following their 1-0 win over Luton, despite scoring just 13 goals in their 12 games this season.

How Does Premier League Winner Betting Work?

Betting on which team is going to win the Premier League is extremely popular in the UK and is easy to understand.

You are simply betting on who is going to finish first in the Premier League this year and lift the trophy.

Winning bets are paid out either on the final day, when all the league's standings have been finalised, or when the team at the top have mathematically secured the title.

This means no other team can catch them or take the top position away from them, due to the amount of games and in turn points that can be won.

It’s a simple and fun way of betting on the outcome of the Premier League and can sometimes return major profits. In 2016 one bettor, after Leicester's shock league title triumph, secured a major payout after backing the Foxes at odds of 5000/1.
