Mamelodi Sundowns’ new signing, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, is currently lighting up the PSL and making an early claim for the coveted award.

However, the Brazilian is facing stiff competition from a number of players who are also determined to have their names written in the lights.

Among them are Orlando Pirates’ Zakhele Lepasa, Moroka Swallows’ Tshegofatso Mabasa, Sundowns’ Ronwen Williams and Kaizer Chiefs’ South American import Edson Castillo.

And with the PSL campaign still in the early stages, a few more players will still be confident that they could put together a run of form that would potentially see them mentioned in the conversation.
