Citizens still setting the standard
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are three from three this season after their 3-1 success over Young Boys last month.
Striker Erling Haaland scored twice to set City on their way, and their latest success means they are three points clear at the top of Group G, with RB Leipzig chasing them down.
City’s price has not moved from 2/1 despite their recent success, while the same can be said of Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians are still available at 9/2 and, like City, they have a perfect record in the Champions League.
Thomas Tuchel’s team beat Manchester United 4-3 in their opener, and they have since beaten FC Copenhagen 2-1 and Galatasaray 3-1.
Tuchel will hope to improve his team’s defensive record, and the return of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer may help their cause. The 37-year-old has spent ten months on the sidelines with a broken leg, and his return should only improve Bayern’s chances of winning the Champions League.
Spanish giants also sitting pretty
Only four teams have won every group game thus far, and Spanish pair Real Madrid and Barcelona are the other teams to have done so.
In his final year in charge, Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid are 13/2 and Jude Bellingham’s form has helped them progress.
Bellingham has scored three goals already to push his team forward, while Barcelona’s defensive record has aided their cause.
Xavi’s side, who are 10/1 to lift the trophy, have conceded only one goal in three games, and they have already beaten Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp.
Red Devils have work to do
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United lost their first two Group A matches to Bayern and Galatasaray, but they got back to winning ways against Copenhagen, winning 1-0 thanks to Andre Onana’s late penalty save.
The Red Devils are 40/1 to lift the Champions League trophy, but they are struggling to click of late. Ten Hag’s team have lost successive games at Old Trafford 3-0, and they will need an upturn in fortunes to finish in the top two.
Fellow Premier League side Arsenal are 8/1 to win this year’s competition under Mikel Arteta after they bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Lens by beating Sevilla by the same scoreline.
Group F, which was labelled this year’s “Group of Death”, looks as competitive as expected. Paris Saint-Germain, who are 14/1 to win the trophy, are sitting top of the section after two wins in three, while Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle are on four points. Italian giants AC Milan are propping up the group, having gained only two points from three games.
